What i've been doing: i've been working on trying to create a site listing pictures of various tattoos of the duran duran kind that either people have used, or would think would be a good tattoo. this all started when i got two duran duran tattoos, and brought it up to the group. I've also been writing up stories on the band to be used in publication for newspapers and websites, just short little blurbs about what the band has been up to lately, including a link to the official website.
Ideas: being in charge of communications and a lot of the internet stuff, i would be thrilled if we could host chats with a member of duran duran. i run an irc chat room on a smallish server that can be accessed either by an irc program or over the net. we could host a particular member every week, month, etc., or as just a one time thing. also, this is a long stretch, since this wouldn't become a possibility for at least another year, but i'll suggest it now anyway. i'd be thrilled to interview members of the band while they're on tour. it could be the band as a whole, various members, or even just one. the interview (as well as chat transcripts in the above paragraph) could be archived on my website, as well as other fan's, and could be submitted to magazines, music websites, and anything else! i was also interested in seeing the band come to play in memphis. the past two tours, they have gone to tunica. with some of the recent people that have been playing here in memphis, it's got me to thinking that duran duran could easily play some of the venues we have here. also, it would enable some people who wanted to go to tunica, but couldn't. (the long drive, the age factor, etc.) any way that could start to go into motion? i could always call around venues and see if there's an interest.
